The option ''flashcards'' doesn't come up when I want to practice on my course. What should I do? I only like flashcards

You're right.
Clicking flashcards will automatically go into "learn" mode
To use flashcards for practice, click practice, then select flashcards as the mode
We need to work on improving that.
