DO NOT MIX UP DOSING OF DIFFERENT PREPARATIONS
Dose: glucagon 1 mg (1 unit) by intramuscular (or subcutaneous) injection
○ Takes 5-10 minutes to work
○ Need to have glycogen storage for this to work
Do in some circumstances e.g. severe anorexia, glycogen stores might be low and in which case glucagon is ineffective
Traumatic lesions from objects to induce vomiting
Angular cheilitis, candidiasis, glossitis, or oral mucosal ulceration due to malnutrition
High risk of decay
Bilateral parotid swelling in those that vomit
