Progressive neurodegenerative disorder -amyloid plaques clump together outside the neuron leading to loss of synapses and neurofibrillary tangles occur in the neuron leading to death of the neuron, which results in neuron death and atrophy of the affected areas of the brain - loss of acetycholine (processing memory and learning)
