PBL is conducted in small groups while simulation may be used by individual or groups Students using PBL have little background knowledge of subject matter while students using simulation have most of the background knowledge they need to apply to the case. PBL Cases are usually brief, and problems are ill while simulation cases are often long and detailed and problems are fairly well-defined.
