Ringworm

Infections are caused by 20 species of dermatophyte fungi grouped into 3 genera. Infections spread by direct or indirect contact with an infected individual or animal. Disease process is unique for two reasons: 1. no living tissue is involved 2. have evolved a dependency in humans and animals.
