What are some beliefs about the Messiah?

They will come to earth when needed the most They will usher in a world of peace They will lead the Jewish people back to the land of Israel They will be a prophet, leader and teacher They will be an agent of God and not a saviour (as in the Christian sense) They will be a descendant of King David They will rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem They will bring political and spiritual change They will make Jewish law the law of the land God will decide when to send the Messiah The world is not yet at peace so the Messiah has not yet come
