Common Substances Abused During Pregnancy: An animal tranquilizer that is frequently used street drug in polydrug abuse. Causes increased cardiac output and a sense of euphoria (sense of elation and extreme happiness) and long-term hallucinations. These drugs tend to leave the maternal circulation and concentrate in fetal cells = injurious to a fetus.
