Question:

Why can Excessive Regulations [Bureaucracy] create Market Distortions? Make an Example with the Housing Market

Author: eric_galvao

Answer:

-Planning Controls means it takes a Long Time in Construction Projects. Sure they are Safe, but the Amount of Time may just not be Worth it. This will Reduce the Supply in the Housing Market, and Increase Price. -Time Lags as well, as the Government can not Respond to the Society’s Demands quickly enough due to Regulation. This may make Houses worse off
