How do particles behave in solids, liquids, and gases?

Solids: locked together, evenly spaced, usually most dense, vibrating. Liquids: freely flowing over each other, can be poured. Gases: take up whole volume of container, bouncing off molecules and the walls, exerting an outward pressure.
