Fludrocortisone

Is a synthetic glucocorticoid with predominant mineralocorticoid activity. This means that the drug works to replace the natural hormone, aldosterone. As such, it is used to treat Addison’s disease (a condition where the adrenal glands insufficiently produce enough steroid hormones).
