Large airways (mucus hyper, neutrophils sputum, epithelia metaplasia, macrophage, CD8, smooth muscle hyperplasia) Small airways (inflammatory exudate, emphysema, inflammatory wall thickening, fibrosis, lymphoid follicle (if severe)) Parenchyma (alveolar wall destruction, loss of elasticity, destruction of capillary bed, increased inflammatory cells)
