Early stage (6 hours) no visibile changes. 6-48 hrs: coagulation necrosis, cell contour preserved, acute inflammatory reactions surround it. Remanider 1st week: necrotic territory undergoes progressive centripetal destruction by macrophages, replacement of necrotic tissue w/fleshy bud. 1-2 weeks (healing, fibrosis, conjunctival organization)
