How is hemolytic anemia evaluation?

Hemolytic anemia is characterized by premature destruction of red blood cells (hemolysis), resulting in anemia and related clinical manifestations. Laboratory findings suggestive of hemolytic anemia include a positive Coombs test (DAT), elevated lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels due to release from damaged RBCs, decreased haptoglobin levels due to its consumption in scavenging free hemoglobin, and elevated bilirubin levels due to increased breakdown of hemoglobin.
