Characteristic symptoms; 2 or > of the following: Delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech, grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior, negative symptoms Social/occupational dysfunction Duration of at least 6 months Schizoaffective or mood disorder has been excluded Disorder is not due to a medical disorder or substance abuse
