Type II schizophrenia recently linked to brain abnormalities. CAT and MRI reveal enlarged ventricles. People with enlarged ventricles usually have Type II (negative symptoms) rather than Type I (positive symptoms) Studies also show Type II people have smaller amount of cortical gray matter, smaller frontal and temporal lobes, and less blood flow in certain areas of the brain
