How is auscultation in acute abdomen?

In auscultation, we need to check if bowel movement is present or not: - In case of hyperperistalsis with acute abdominal pain ? think of a mechanical obstruction: tumor, internal hernia, strangulation... - In case of bowel movement absence ? think of ileus: either due to a peritonitis or a medical cause (e.g. severe hypokalemia).
