➢ Osteoid osteoma is frequently treated by radiofrequency ablation, or cryotherapy ➢ During therapeutic procedure a biopsy is taken for histology study ➢ Confirmation possible in 30 to 60% of cases only. ➢ Microscopically, it is a benign osteoforming tumor, well circumscribed and composed of randomly interconnecting delicate trabeculae, of woven bone that are prominently rimmed by a single layer of osteoblasts. ➢ The stroma surrounding the neoplastic bone consists of loose connective tissue that contains many dilated and congested capillaries
