Endocapillary proliferation = Increase in the number of cells in the endocapillarycompartment ➢ mesangial cells ➢ inflammatory cells of the circulating blood ➢ endothelial cells Endocapillary proliferation is always linked to the presence of endomembrane deposit Extracapillary proliferation = Increase in the number of parietal epithelial cells following glomerular necrosis ➢ Formation of a crescent in the urinary chamber ➢ Progression towards fibrosis
