Question:

Define directives?

Author: Henriette Bergo

Answer:

Directives are binding as to the result that must be achieved, but they allow Member States the flexibility to choose how to implement them in their national laws. Each Member State is required to "transpose" the directive into domestic law within a certain time frame. Example: Habitat directive 92/43/EEC( promote the conservation of natural habitats, wild fauna, and flora across Europe)
