Overactive orbito-frontal cortex signals feeling of worry. Then damaged caudate nucleus fails to suppress these feelings, therefore it activates the (overactive) thalamus which induces compulsive behaviour. This compulsive behaviour then triggers the orbito-frontal cortex again, restarting the cycle
