To be most successful, you as a leader must be a highly skilled follower first, and then you must teach your followers leadership and followership skills. A follower is someone who chooses to follow a leader because of the leader's character, ability or vision. Another description of follower is a person who acknowledges the focal leader as the primary source of guidance about the work, regardless of how much formal authority the leader actually has over the person.
