Question:

Cautions contraindications anti pshcyotics

Author: Suzuki

Answer:

Acute agitation accompanying withdrawal from alcohol or other drugs may be aggravated by the antipsychotics. Stabilization with a simple sedative, such as a benzodiazepine, is the preferred treatment. All antipsychotics may lower the seizure threshold and should be used cautiously in patients with seizure disorders. Therefore, the antipsychotics can also aggravate pre existing epilepsy and should be used with caution in patients with epilepsy.
