3. Adverse effects: Pilocarpine can enter the brain and cause CNS disturbances. Poisoning with this agent is characterized by exaggeration of various parasympathetic effects, including profuse sweating (diaphoresis) and salivation. The effects are similar to those produced by consumption of mushrooms of the genus Inocybe.
