Patellar: The prominence of the knee. It is produced by the patella, a sesamoid bone in the tendon of the quadriceps femoris muscle.

Crural: The part of the lower limb between the knee and the ankle.

Leg/Crus

Oral: The opening in the face bounded above by the hard and soft palate, below by the tongue and on each side by the cheek (buccal wall).

Mouth

Cervical: The part of the body that connects the head and trunk. At its core are the cervical vertebrae, which are surrounded by muscles, vessels and nerves.

Neck

Nasal: A protuberance on the face, formed from cartilage and bone, that houses the entrance to the nasal cavity.

Nose

Palmer: The proximal part of the hand, formed of the metacarpal bones and associated muscles, tendons, vessels and nerves.

Palm

Pelvic: Part of the skeleton formed by two hip bones on each side and the sacrum and coccyx in the midline.

Pelvis

Cranial: Consists of the facial skeleton and braincase (calvaria). It protects the brain.

Skull/Cranium

Femoral: The region of the proximal lower limb that has the femur at the core with the quadriceps femoris muscle anteriorly, and the hamstring and adductor muscles posteriorly and medially.

Pollical: Digit one of the hand.

Thumb/ Pollex

Digital/Phalangeal: Digits 1-5 of the lower limb. They contain phalangeal bones.

Toes/ Digits

Comprises the thoracic, abdominopelvic cavities and their musculoskeletal walls.

Trunk/Torso

Umbilical: A puckered scar where the umbilical cord was attached during prenatal life.

Umbilicus

Carpal: Comprises the carpal bones and tendons transmitting muscle power from the forearm to the fingers.
