What is Work is Done? | This is when a Force moves an Object |
Explain Work is Done | When something moves, something else has to provide an effort to move it. That something that puts in the effort needs a supply of energy [Food or Coal.] It does the work by then moving the object and transfers the energy it gained from its supplier to other stores.
When its transferred, work is done. They are the same thing. |
What is the formula for Work is Done. | Work done [J] = Force [N] x Distance [m] |
How can this connect with Kinetic Energy Store and Gravitational Potential Energy Store? | When a force is done to move an object, the work done is going to be the same as the energy transferred to the kinetic energy store. That's if there is no friction
If the object is already moving, and there is friction then the energy transferred from the objects kinetic energy store is equal to the work done against the objects motion
If a object is being lifted, then the work done on that action will be the same as the energy transferred to its Gravitational Potential Energy Store |
What does Power measure? | It measures the Rate of which energy is trnasferred |
What is the formula for Power? | Power [W] = Work Done [J]
