Groupthink is more likely to arise in groups where the following three conditions are fulfilled (Janis)

Structural shortcomings: When the group is isolated and the backgrounds of its members are homogenous, like at SSE. 3. Pressing external conditions: Decisions made under stress or in a threatening situation increases the risk of groupthink.
