Mutations in INR (fly daf-2): mean female lifespan increased by up to 85%. Mutation of chico (insulin receptor substrate), increases lifespan by up to 48%. Implications: Wide evolutionary conservation of the role of insulin/IGF-signalling in the modulation of ageing: a public mechanism of ageing.
