Hitler realised that Nazis had to gain power through democracy before destroying it and after being released he started rebuilding the Nazi party. Hitler saw communists building up strength through youth organisations and recruitment drives so the Nazi's started doing the same. Their candidates stood in Reichstag elections for the first time in May 1924 and won 32 seats, which encouraged hitler, and he set up the Hitler Youth
