Contraindications:  Myopathy and rhabdomyolysis have been reported in patients taking gemfibrozil and statins together.  The use of gemfibrozil is contraindicated with simvastatin. Drug-Drug Interactions Potentiate the action of oral anticoagulants and some hypoglycemic drugs displacing them from plasma proteins binding sites NB: Not used in pregnant or lactating women
