How is prognosis of cholangiocarcinoma?

Author: H K

Answer:

Most patients with unresectable cholangiocarcinoma die within 1 year of diagnosis. Patients with distal cholangiocarcinoma are more likely to have resectable disease and improved prognosis compared to perihilar cholangiocarcinoma. The overall 5-year survival rate for resectable disease is 30% to 50%.
